Why you might consider a chart reading from an astrologer

Reading your daily horoscope in the newspaper is like reading the cover of a book to me.  And, how can it relate to every person of the same sign?  I’ve always wondered about that, and struggled when reading horoscopes myself.  It is for that reason that I have chosen not to do them.  That, and it’s a lot of work!

In a personalized chart reading from a skilled, intuitive astrologer your personal blueprint is read.  You came into this world uniquely you.  There is no one else like you and no one else has a chart exactly like yours.  Sure, there are other people who were born on the same day, but their chart is slightly different because of the place or time they were born.  They are not you.  The differences show in your chart patterns, in the chart interpretation and it shows up in how you function differently in life from others – personality, ego, likes and dislikes, etc.

I get a feeling from looking at your chart patterns, and the symbols seem to come to life. When I do a chart reading I look at each planet, what sign it is in, what house it is in, and how it functions in your chart.

I first discovered astrology through my fascination with psychology as a teenager.  I studied Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, and then his student Carl Jung, who was an astrologer.  Here is a quote from Jung:

“Our modern science begins with astronomy. Instead of saying that man was led by psychological motives, they formerly said he was led by his stars. ... The puzzling thing is that there is really a curious coincidence between astrological and psychological facts, so that one can isolate time from the characteristics of an individual, and also, one can deduce characteristics from a certain time. Therefore we have to conclude that what we call psychological motives are in a way identical with star positions. Since we cannot demonstrate this, we must form a peculiar hypothesis. This hypothesis says that the dynamics of our psyche is not just identical with the position of the stars, nor has it to do with vibrations - that is an illegitimate hypothesis. It is better to assume that it is a phenomenon of time.... The stars are simply used by man to serve as indicators of time...” - Carl G. Jung in 1929

A chart reading can help answer questions about your career, relationship (or lack of), health, finances, family, communication, emotions, etc.

My website will be up soon!  I am already offering natal chart readings and updates, as well as answering questions about your chart.

I hope to see you in the stars!

Spirit Guides

A message from my Spirit Guides:

We are all beings of light brought here to show ourselves the way to the ever lasting feeling of goodness and grace.  It is our intention to show you how to make your way to that end.  You do not find your way there easily.  You must be shown the way.  It does not come easily.  You must find your way to us.  We are at your beck and call always.

You call on us and we are here, always.  Please remember that.  Your Spirit Guides are with you always.  It is as Sonia tells you.  She is a bright spirit, brought into this life to show you and others the way.  You notice how she brings light into a room when she enters?  She is an emanator, a bringer of light.

Call on us whenever you need guidance, help, answers, comfort, reassurance, or any need that you have that we can be of service to you. We may not answer as you think we will or in the way you think, but we will be there.  Pay close attention because our answers come in strange ways at times.

Our answers sometimes will come in numbers.  Have you ever studied the arts of Astrology, Numerology, Tarot or other oracles?  Even your intuition will work.  Sometimes we will answer you through another human.  A person may come to you and bring up a topic quite unexpectedly – something you had been thinking of and asked us about and suddenly they mention it to you.  This is not coincidence, but rather a message from your Guides.

At other times our messages will come directly to you as an inner knowing.  You will simply get a message from deep inside of you that will resonate like the tone of a bell.  You know it when you hear it and you know it is true.  You don’t know why it is true and cannot explain it, you just know it.

(Sonia offers an online course as well as an intimate class in person that teaches you to connect with your Spirit Guides.  I attended the class and connected with my Spirit Guides in a very deep way.  You can find out more at:  www.soniachoquette.com)

Bring on the L O V E!

"We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection."  ~Dalai Lama

Let this sink in for a little while.  Think about being deprived of affection.  Having no one to hold you, no one to affectionately greet you at the end of your day, not even a beloved pet.

Now, think about the first time you fell in love.  Can you remember the thrill, how you counted down the hours and minutes until you could be together again?  Do you remember how your heart skipped a beat every time you heard your beloved’s name?  Ah, the power of love.

Think of a tiny newborn with no one to love it, caress it or calm it when it cries.  What happens to that newborn when it grows up?  Do you think that child becomes a loving and caring adult?  Or would that child grow up to be an adult who finds affection hard to accept?  I think that the latter is more likely.

Researchers are finding that babies who are given affection are more able to cope with stress and less likely to suffer from depression.  They also have good self-esteem and coping mechanisms for dealing with life.

I’ve heard that if you want an affectionate cat, you should adopt from a home that showered the kittens with lots of love and attention.  This makes sense to me.  You get what you give, right?

I learned a long time ago in reading Marianne Williamson’s book, A Return to Love, that all emotions can be traced back to two:  love and fear.  We are all making choices to operate out of these two in everything that we do.

Think about this the next time someone approaches you in anger:  What emotion are they acting out of?  Does it make it easier to respond to this person when you realize that the base emotion of anger is fear?

I have had issues all my life in dealing with anger – whether it was mine or someone else’s.  It makes me very uncomfortable to feel anger, especially when it is directed at me.  I much prefer to keep the peace, and think that most people feel the same way.

Our Precious Lives

"Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can."
— Dalai Lama XIV

How often do you wake up and hit the shower without consciously thinking about what you are doing, or what is going to be happening in your day, other than perhaps the tasks you face?

Our lives are precious gifts, not to be wasted.  Time slips through our fingers so quickly.  We spend time at our 8 to 5 jobs and simultaneously raise our children from infancy to late teens.  The entire process seemingly occurs in the blink of an eye, when we look back on it.  Yet it is the process itself that matters most.

We work towards goals of retirement or much anticipated vacations, all the while missing valuable daily opportunities to reach out to others.  We miss chances to influence the lives of others for the benefit of all. This can be done in very simple ways.  It can be a compliment about someone's smile.  It can be as simple as connecting with someone you come into contact with that is carrying a book you have been thinking about reading.

Make it your goal to smile at everyone you see, even if you don't feel it inside.  Before you know it, you will feel it.  Inspire others with your kindness.

Try out the ideas in the quote from the Dalai Lama above for just seven days and see how it affects you, who it brings into your circle.  I challenge you to try it for 40 days and see what happens!

The Illusion of Perfection

I’m not perfect.  It feels good to write it down and let it out.  I have a problem admitting that I’m less than perfect, even to myself.

I have always wanted to do my best, to please my parents, and as I got older to please my teachers and then to please my boss.  But, it has always really been about pleasing myself first.

Where does the illusion of perfection come from?  We are measured against each other from the beginning.  From our first breath of life to our last, we are measured and charted.  Facts are noted about us, measuring us against others in our demographic grouping.

We look through magazines, newspapers and reality shows and see examples of life as portrayed by the media.  The only problem with that is when we do not recognize that these are not real life.  They pretend and actually mock real life.  They are made up of pretty people who play act at life, play house and play roles.

If you use your intuitive skills, you’ll wake up and see right through them.  If you go through life asleep, as many do, it will pass right by you totally unnoticed.  You’ll buy into the illusion and be all the poorer in spirit for having done so.

I invite you to look around and wake up to what is real.  Go outside and take a walk.  Smell the dirt, the freshly mown grass.  Use your imagination if you are completely surrounded by snow, like me.  Take the time to really see the beauty that is the outdoors – there are glorious colors and shapes everywhere you look.  Nature in all her beauty, now that is perfection!

What's Your Sign, Baby?

If you’ve been wondering if your astrology sign has changed, wonder no more – it hasn’t!

The news circulating that astrologers are off by one sign because they haven’t kept up with the change in the position of the constellations is a failure by one astronomer to understand astrology.

Parke Kunkle, astronomer, claims that astrologers have failed to keep up with the position of the constellations and thus astrology is bogus and your sign is wrong.

Astrologers are in tune with the Equinox and the Solstice and the progression of the planets.  For astrologers today, it is about the movement of the planets and the timing of the seasons.

Please see Astrologer Rob Breszny’s website at www.freewillastrology.com for a more detailed explanation.

Contact me via email at GuidedByIntuition@gmail.com or marsha.massino@gmail.com if you are interested in obtaining your natal chart or a natal chart interpretation.

A one hour intuitive astrology reading with me is a bargain at $125, payable via PayPal to my account at marsha.massino@gmail.com.

You will receive a copy of your chart and an analysis of the planets and their personal meaning to you, written by me.  We will then get together to discuss the reading, either in person, over the phone or Skype.  You may tape the reading.

Share Your Love

The labels that we give each other tend to isolate us from one another.  They divide us and give us reason to separate, rather than to bring us together.

Why not throw away the labels and relate to each other as brothers and sisters?  Why not relate to one another as people with hearts and minds who think and feel, just like you?

Meeting others as kindred spirits, each having something to offer to the other.  Seeing the light, the spirit, the divine in each other and nourishing that and sharing it with one another.  This is what will bring us peace in the world.

Allow me to share with you this reference from the Dalai Lama…

"At the end of the talk someone from the audience asked the Dalai Lama “Why didn’t you fight back against the Chinese?”
The Dalai Lama looked down, swung his feet just a bit, then looked back up at us and said with a gentle smile, “Well, war is obsolete, you know.”Then, after a few moments, his face grave, he said, “Of course the mind can rationalize fighting back… but the heart, the heart would never understand.  Then you would be divided in yourself, the heart and the mind, and the war would be inside you.'”

Share your love with all that you meet, especially those who try your patience, for they are your true test of character.
